Character Info

Name: Rohesia Thorneyes
Age: Mid-Twenties
Gender: Female
Race: Hyur (Highlander)
Origin: Ala Mhigo
Height: 5 fulms, 9 ilmsAppearance: Green eyes, brown skin, wiry brown hair. Tattoos along the left side of her face. Far from the tallest highlander, she nevertheless stands at a respectable height, and her intimidating stare tends to add a few ilms to most folks' impression of her height. Even at a glance, it's easy to mark her as a Gyr Abanian.Nine times out of ten, she's wearing clothes fit for an adventurer - well-worn robes for healing, with her staff almost always at her side. If you catch her without her jacket, she has messy scarring on her right shoulder, starting at her collarbone and extending almost to her bicep, but she usually takes pains to cover the worst of the marks.History: Most who know Rohesia know her by her personality, not her past. There's few things she's open about; the most relevant is her rough childhood in Ala Mhigo because, as she puts it, "It's a touch obvious, innit?" Rohesia lost her family during the early days of the Imperial occupation of Gyr Abania, when she was just a child. She made her own way after that, surviving on the streets of Ala Mhigo with a group of fellow orphans and vagabonds. Most of her stories about this time in her life feature a miqo'te boy called Ndai, a good childhood friend of hers. Dead, or lost - until recently, she had no clue. After that, though, the details of her life are something she's tight-lipped about. She spent the past few years working as an Adventurer out of Mor Dhona before joining a Free Company proper - but the greater part of her life is something she rarely brings up.Personality: If you were to ask Rohesia about herself a turn ago, she would once have told you that she's a loner who doesn't trust easily and knows how to get by without others, thanks much - she's been doing it all her life. The truth is, she's not the best at hiding the heart she wears on her sleeve. She tends to lean on her first impression, even (especially) if it's a good one, and though she might gripe and tease, her actions speak for her. Once she’s decided to like someone, she’ll go out of her way to help them, no matter how many things she claims she could be doing instead. She's quick to laugh and quip, and just as quick to anger, but it takes longer for her to hold a grudge against a person she's felt trust in - but once that trust is broken, it's nearly impossible to earn back. When someone has hit a sore spot, it’s easy to tell. Her rough-and-tumble Ala Mhigan accent gets stronger when she’s on edge, and she isn’t one to ignore an insult. When she feels that she’s been slighted, she’ll give as good as she gets, though it takes purposeful prodding to get her to explode into real violence, and when she's finally cooled her head, she's usually likely to apologize, however begrudgingly, for losing her temper.Asked about herself now... her answer mostly wouldn't change. She's determined to be self-sufficient as she was before, and still struggles to rely on others... but she might admit that she's fond of a few of the idiots under her care, and that she'll do her best to keep them alive.
Hooks
Ala Mhigan: Rohesia’s Ala Mhigan heritage is obvious in both her appearance and her accent. Although it’s been years since she called it home, she feels enough kinship with her homeland to yearn for connections with people who share it.Past History: Fuck around and find out.Healer: Despite never having had a formal education in Conjury, Rohesia’s skill is a combination of natural talent and practical experience that means she’s good at what she can do. If she sees someone in trouble it’s natural for her to extend a helping hand, to the point that she'll often chide the wounded person in question into accepting her help. She’s still willing to learn from more experienced healers, so long as she doesn't think they're making light of her own skills.Adventurer: For a few years, Rohesia spent time working as a adventurer-for-hire in Mor Dhona. She works with the Ebonheart Company for now, but she can still be found around the city, and she's got a reputation as someone who doesn't mind hard work.Clinic: That reputation extends to the Blood and Thorn, a humble little clinic she's set up in her apartments in Revenant's Toll. When she's not out adventuring, she can be found here. If you need a reliable healer on the cheap, the Blood and Thorn is a decent choice.
The Blood and Thorn
A carved sign marks this apartment out from the rest, deep in the cliffs of Mor Dhona. The Blood and Thorn Clinic, it says. It's easy to miss, if you don't know what you're looking for, but if you do...

The Blood and Thorn is a clinic that Rohesia runs in the spare moments between adventuring jobs. Rarely advertised, its' presence is mostly known by word of mouth with adventurers she's worked with in the past. Looking for a healer who doesn't ask questions, doesn't charge you an arm and a leg for their work? It might just be worth your while to stop in. So long as you can put up with Thorneyes' sharp tongue, that is - she may be a good healer, but anyone you ask will say she doesn't suffer fools.
(OOC: The Blood and Thorn can be found at Empyreum Ward 16, Ingleside Wing 2 Room 46. At the moment, there are no scheduled hours for the Blood and Thorn. If you're interested in finding Rohesia in the clinic, you can send me a /tell in-game, or on tumblr @thorneyes)

Send a tell in game if you’d like to RP and don’t have my discord.I prefer lore-compliant RP scenarios, though I'd like to avoid directly interacting with the events of the MSQ - that means no WoL characters, please, or those with immediate ties to NPCs. I'm okay with social, adventuring, and other forms of casual RP in pretty much all cases. RP involving serious character injury, romance, etc. will only evolve out of long-term RP with OOC communication.
